Between hyperfixating for the past week and reading your blog all day and not knowing where my glasses are “Loki” no longer looks like a word
I'm delighted to hear you're getting so into it! (The first weeks of a new hyperfixation are just, idk, intoxicating, right?? Although frankly terrible for productivity and all the other aspects of life, at least for me...haha.)
Here, for no particular reason, have a few fun comics panels! (This is from Loki in the Young Avengers #12 (maybe?? - I did not double check, just pulled from my files):

A Time For Reflection
Here in New Zealand it is New Year’s Eve, and just as I do every year, I wanted to touch base with you all and let you know what is going on in my life.
It’s been a difficult year for all of us – you know it, I know it, and there’s no point in dwelling on it. But I like to think there have been some positives too, at least for me personally.
Back in July, I moved four hours drive away from my…

Five Stones to Challenge
Five Stones to Challenge
Five Lessons About How To Treat People You might call these “urban legends”. There is no way to know their veracity. The author and compiler left no way to acknowledge themselves. Each story seems quite amazing. And even they don’t mention God, or church, or hymns. The actually seem to be perfect just the way they are. 1. First Important Lesson – “Know The Cleaning Lady” During my second month…

Today (Aug 23) is the 25th anniversary of what we consider the modern Internet - webpages, browsers, etc. The above link takes you to an archived version of the very first webpage which was basically just a bunch of text explaining what the World Wide Web was, an ultimately failed attempt at introducing W3 as the abbreviation (the world settled on WWW before just going on to say Internet), and a general call to make the W3 work by, like, actually making content for it.
I actually remember working on the early building blocks of the W3 several years before this. the Usenet forums already existed, of course, but when I was at the University of Saskatchewan I worked in a computer lab where we test drove something called Hypercard, a Mac OS program (we didn’t call them apps yet) that basically did everything the browser you’re using now did: tabs, hotlinks, click on a picture and it got bigger, etc. But it was restricted to either the one computer or the local lab network. But when the W3 arrived, suddenly the stuff we were testing several years earlier on Hypercard was now everywhere. It was rather cool. Amazingly I knew people who didn’t want graphical interfaces. They felt graphics and images and video slowed things down. They were just interested in text. If they wanted images they would go to phone modem-based BBS systems where it could take two hours to download a photo. I never saw the appeal of that aspect of things. I was quite happy to have pretty pictures that didn’t take all night to load!
Sigh. I remember when the Internet was young. I’d spend countless hours searching for images of my favorite actresses, for stuff about Doctor Who, reading fan fiction. Sigh. What happened to those days, eh?
(Pauses to check Jenna’s Instagram, then AO3 to see if This is Yesterday has been updated, then my dashboard to see if any new Whouffaldi images have been posted to Tumblrs I follow...)
Oh, yeah...
