Persis Khambatta, Nighthawks (1981)
The model for Raven's face in this painting was Persis Khambatta, an Indian actress and model. George Perez said Raven was based on her when he originally designed the character. Even though Raven was later turned into a white person, there are still elements of her original Indian "heritage" (her being a vegetarian, the forehead gem, and some of her outfits).
