so I’m Persian + a quarter turco-Persian and I’m fluent in Farsi in a way (I just kinda suck ass at speaking it. I can’t write though, never learned). But I’m VERY good at understanding it. I don’t “look” Persian at all and whenever I tell anyone that I am they stare at me like they saw something paranormal and ask “your Persian? I thought you were [insert nationality]!” Yes I am, you also didn’t know I just heard every word you tried teaching to the guy in front of me. This guy sitting across from me in class was trying to teach another guy Persian and telling him that it was just some nice and casual phrases. HE LITERALLY TOLD HIM “man doodool nadaram” which translates into “I have no dick” BUT HE NEVER TOLD HIM THE CORRECT TRANSLATION. I WAS HOLDING BACK SO MUCH LAUGHTER, THE GUY IN FRONT OF ME STARTED SAYING THIS TO EVERYONE BY THE WAY.
