There wasn’t really any way for Brenton to know if Percy was at Walden’s but at the very least he knew Walden wasn’t there. Somehow, he thought this conversation would be easier had without Walden there. Things had always been a bit more complicated when it came to Percy and Brenton and while the age difference was a moot point these days, he still felt like it would be a better idea to figure things out between the two of them before they let Walden drag them both into bed together again.
“I hear you just couldn’t resist this body,” he said, once he found the man. He was glad that Percy was at Walden’s, after all. It made the search for him that much easier. While there were plenty of lines on the tip of his tongue and his instinct was to flirt, there were things he still didn’t quite understand about all of this and he needed to know where he stood. Not just with Percy, but with that ongoing notion in his mind that if they were saying fuck it to the rules of monogamy, he didn’t need to stop seeing Antonin. Except he didn’t know exactly how this was all supposed to work and it was complications like this that had always made Brenton so cautious about proper relationships, his parents’ failed marriage hanging over his head. “I have some questions for you.” Multiple, actually, and he tilted his head as he looked at Percy and tried to decide where to start. “Did you turn down Aleia for Walden? For— For us?” It felt bizarre to include himself in that.
