30 .   a  kiss  to  say  goodbye .

she can’t meet his eyes, and that’s probably a dead giveaway that something’s wrong. and it’s not even something that should be a big deal when they’re not even dating - not officially, anyway, even if they were just a hop, skip and a jump away. and she likes him. she absolutely doesn’t want to break things off, but she hasn’t seen him in two weeks and it’s not fair - to either of them, but especially not to him. “we can’t see each other anymore,” she says finally, when the tension in her body feels like an actual breaking point, one wrong move and she’ll snap in half. “you deserve better than the small pieces i’m able to give you. i -” she finally looks up at him, and she wants to take it all back. she wants to say that it was a mistake, and that they can make it work - she can make it work, because he’s worth it. but she can’t do that to him. “i’m sorry.” she steels herself, hands bunched into fists at her sides. she slowly unfurls them, and selfishly closes the distance between them one last time. the kiss is delicate, fragile like the heart beating stubbornly in her chest, and she hopes he can feel everything she wants to say but can’t bring herself to speak into existence. too soon, she pulls away and steps back again, one last look at him before leaving his room. it’s for the best, she reminds herself, ignoring the voice in the back of her head that tells her she’s wrong.

lotus :   has your muse ever felt as though they’ve been reborn ?  have they ever desired the feeling of a fresh start ,   or a better understanding of themself and/or the world around them ? 

rehab was the big rebirth for rocky, forcing herself to find coping mechanisms that wouldn’t hurt her. it’s hard when she’s faced with a shrine of lisa every time she looks in a mirror and wants something to numb that feeling, but she considers her syndicate days part of a chapter that she’s officially closed, though music is still the one thing that feels right no matter what (even when she tries so desperately to keep it out of her life).

she often forgets to eat at set mealtimes , so her eating habits are all over the place . she checks her reflection using whatever she has from pocket mirror to front camera on her phone way too often . she has a terrible habit of reading texts and not replying , but it’s just who she is xoxo
