“You think- you think the woman from the plane would be okay with me visiting her in the hospital?”

Carlos looks at him like he said something wonderful and TK never wanted that less than tonight. “I’m sure she would love to meet her hero.”

TK hums, looking down to where his hands and Carlos’ chest seem fused. “It wasn’t all me though,” he says. “We had to call Tommy to help guide me through it and without dad I don’t know how I would have done it. We fixed her wound with a coffee can and pumped her full of coconut water.” A smile twitches alive shortly on his lips. “You should have seen it. It’s a miracle she’s alive.”

Carlos blinks. He doesn’t say it, his lips closing as soon as they opened but TK can read it in his yyes.

It’s a miracle you’re all alive.

"Carlos- Thank you.”

His mouth becomes a tight line and TK’s sure it’s only because Carlos cried before that fresh tears well up in his eyes. “I wish I could do more.”
