Brian's money pouch/wallet gave out. I made another, just a touch larger. I used red tag upholstery vinyl from @joann_stores and made up the order of stitching, for the most part. When I got confused, I found a video from @mimigstyle on @youtube to help. He has been using it at least a month. It's working out well! Happy Sewing Machine Day!!! I just love sewing machines, especially the old, fully-manual ones I can (sometimes) fix with merely a few hand tools. Mine in age order, oldest (and prettiest) first: 1) a Brother/Precision, post WWII 1940's (gift from my brother/sis in love); 2) Pfaff 230, sales slip dated December 15,1956 (bought at a great price from a friend, dusty and in need of love but with ALL the stuff that came with it originally); 3) Kenmore/Singer 1203/1207/1217 (gift from a friend in nonfunctional order... My #MeMadeMay today. Dress No. 2 by @100actsofsewing, plus faux button placket. It fits OK except in my rounded shoulders. @joann_stores Snuggle flannel for body; Luxe rayon/cotton flannel for arms/trim. My day-off dress. Definitely needs a slip, even though I "lined" the front with nylon tricot Pellon easy-knit fusible interfacing. May stick to Dress No. 1 from now on. I like the more extreme A-line, and my shoulders fit the sleeveless version better. Cutting out pajama pants for my Mommy. She needs another set. Grateful for the gifted pattern, fabric (and zigzag sewing machine... my others are straight stitch only) from dear friend @funnettetheexplorer Annette. I have many pieces of cotton fabric, but these pants take a pile of fabric!!! Mom liked the first pair I made her from this pattern, so these should take just a short session or two of sewing between late dinner (after visiting mom in the hospital) and bedtime. She is so proud of what I have made. Her memory works on those items all the time. Preparing for a test run of the Leralynn dress by Blank Slate Patterns. No pockets, shortened 10" to tunic length, removed 1" of height at the waist.uncannily, my bust/waist/hip measurements all fit into the specs for one size. I have had this fabric since 2003 or 2004. I made a pair of leggings the other day. It was such a victory to make something. I drafted the pattern from my measurements a year or more ago, though my fabric was short a few inches. I made cuffs and a tall yoga-type waistband from the leftover scraps to accommodate the short yardage. Definitely a win! I started a new sewing project. Reversible apron (for work)! Flamingo with contrasting pink pocket, and Monet-like batik with matching batik pocket. Need to buy some ribbon or trim for straps, hopefully some green variant. Bedtime is here anyway. Ironing/fusing interfacing has to happen in the back half of the house, and the sewing area is in the front clumsy, but I make it work.
