okay so I'm not sure if I'm asexual because I think about if I date someone that I'll probably have to have sex with them and my brain acknowledges that but I kinda don't want that in a relationship. there was this guy that I liked a lot but all I wanted to do was like sit there and talk to him. sex seems scary and weird and uncomfortable and not something I'm interested in. am I asexual or just not "matured" enough because I'm only 16. I read the "am I asexual" page and I'm still unsure.
A romantic relationship does not equal sex. Sex is not romance. Sex is not love. Sex is not a necessary part of a relationship. If you donât want to have sex in your romantic relationships, donât. Itâs okay. There are plenty of other people who donât want sex and/or are fine without having sex in their relationships.
Itâs okay to not want sex. Itâs not that youâre too young and not âmatureâ enough. There are people younger than you who know they want sex and have it. As soon as youâre old enough to start thinking about sex and whether or not you want it is when youâre old enough to decide your opinions on it. Whether or not youâve had sex. Your opinion may change as you get old, but thatâs not because you were too young or not mature enough. Thatâs cause opinions change. People change.
Whether or not asexual is the right word for you is up to you to decide? Do you identify with asexual? Do you want to call yourself asexual? Do you feel asexual? If you answered yes to any of those then congratulations! Youâre asexual! If not thatâs okay too! Keep doing some hunting.
