I see, to this day, people speaking badly of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy. They're still the same purists, the nervous nerds of 2012, and of course, no one cares about them, because whoever was here in 2012, yearning to see Tolkien in the movies again and with a head full of that little book read as a child, can't forget the magic of seeing the Elvenking, here, in elven flesh and blood for the first time. I remember adoring him in the book and imagining the immense beauty he would be with his crown of leaves over his golden hair. When Lee Pace was cast, I didn't know him, I didn't know who he was, and a terrible anguish gripped me, because the earlier cogitations were definitely not elven. Then I saw the first photo... well, the world ended and everything here seemed to have gone into total confusion, everything turned to hell. LOL It was a real elf! I will never forget this moment. And after all this time, we are still here. Lee Pace isn't the same anymore, he's still handsome, I don't think he'll ever stop being 80 years old, but that's not what it's all about. It's just that everyone and I would like to see this elf behead orcs again. Think about it. He would be magnificent, far more magnificent than the Emperor of the Galaxy. Thranduil Oropherion, the King of the Woodland Realm.
