I just think they'd be really hot together okay! Sirius deserves a hot young boytoy after all those years in Azkaban!

Okay, but seriously, they're both brilliant men, the top of their respective classes at school. Both are outcasts in their families. I do think there's a bit of rebelliousness in Percy? In the sense that he could have just caved and been exactly the type of son/brother his family wanted and they would have stopped making fun of him, but he refused to do that, just like Sirius refused to bend to his own family's will.

I actually feel really bad for Percy now as an adult, like, his family was awful to him! Not just his siblings, but his parents too! No wonder he wanted out! And all for the crime of *checks notes* liking to follow the rules.

There's a great Percy defense essay that circulates here once in a while that outlines all this, but yeah, his family treats him like crap and Sirius knows what that feels like!

Also, as someone else pointed out, they've both got the whole Scabbers thing in common. Imagine an OOTP AU where Percy is at Grimmauld with the rest of the family and Sirius saunters up one day and is like, "Sorry my former friend pretended to be your pet for your entire childhood, that must be rough, want some Firewhiskey?" and Percy says yes to everyone's shock (including his own) and anyway I think they would bond after that.

Or imagine a universe where Sirius gets his freedom and he's at the Ministry a lot after that (maybe as Lord Black taking his seat on the Wizengamot, maybe just to cause trouble because he can) and he gets to know the Minister's assistant quite well. ;)

Also, they both have the Ministry screwing them over in common! Sirius's is obvious, but Percy got in trouble in GOF because he *checks notes again* did what his boss told him to do, and then the Ministry reprimanded him for it because he didn't realize something was up with Crouch?????

God, they would both hate Crouch and Peter sooooooooooooo much.

but like with the more popular options for each character im assuming im not very familiar with next-gen shipping

But every time I i see them my brains like

i wanna see what people say on Percy c: sounds fun

but like not the popular ones because Perciver would just zoom past everything else

so I thought it would be neat to do one with some of my Percy ships c: So then I decided to just exclude anything that I like that has more then 100 fics on ao3 because that made sense to me

Percius is so fun but Sirius being Sirius it can easily lean into the Percy being fixed because he got laid concept that i'm not super into personally

but specifically how their situations when it comes to their families mirror each other but even more specifically about how their feelings around said situation are so different

Like Percy is full of regret over it now when the regret pops up is a bit ambiguous but I tend to view it as there from the moment he left but just growing bigger and bigger the closer the war gets and switches from a regret of how he left into a regret of leaving in general because I do think at the start he felt very justified in leaving and it's only as the war starts that that feeling of vindication i guess starts to fade and get replaced by like fear and loneliness.

While Sirius doesn't regret leaving like at all. Because while Percy tries to convince himself he's justified in leaving and people around him maybe even tell him such.

Sirius like knows his choice was best, you know?

Like while Percy leaving was seemingly spur of the moment I've always seen Sirius' as more planned like even if the actual day it happened had just been a breaking point situation I do think Sirius thought about it alot for years before that point.

While I think Percy had like a vague notion that he'd obviously move out on his own eventually he didn't actually think about seriously leaving until he did you know?

Point is they think they understand each other on that front but they really don't and that's fun
