Virginia “Pepper” Potts
Bio
Gender: female Orientation: bisexual demiromantic Appearance: 5'4", strawberry blonde, blue eyed, freckled Birthday: February 19, 1974 Education: Bachelor’s in Art History, Master’s in Business Administration
History:
Virginia Potts was born into a perfectly normal upper-middle-class suburban family. She had a mother, who worked some of the time, a father who worked all of the time, and a brother six years younger than her, Cameron.
She did well in school. She got good grades, played softball and volleyball, and served on the student council. She took several art classes despite her obvious lack of talent.
She went to college the fall after graduation and earned a degree in Art History. After the first year of school, she stopped missing home.
About a year after her college graduation, her mother got cancer, but she couldn’t afford to visit too often and risk her job at MoMA. After her mother died, she got a job with an elderly, eccentric man as an art consultant, which allowed her to go back to school part time. After his death, she quickly finished her Master’s degree and turned her life in a whole new direction, going to work in office management at a startup technology company. It was then that she started going by an old childhood nickname rather than Virginia.
She was 28 when she was snatched up by Stark Industries.
Pepper caught all sorts of mistakes in SI’s financial records and she was thorough and persistent when it came to dealing with them. One of these mistakes is what lead her to barge into Mr. Stark’s office and demand his attention. She started as his personal assistant the next week.
Pepper had never been the sort to catch feelings, but after several years of working closely with Mr. Stark, handling all that he asked of her, she found herself getting closer and liking him much more than she ever planned to.
Pepper was good at her job. She was efficient and effective and everything she needed to be. When Mr. Stark was dying and promoted her to Chief Executive Officer, she did that job well too.
Her father died of general poor health not long after she became CEO.
Personality and Preferences
Pepper likes to be in control. She likes it very much, in all aspects of her life. She likes to be in charge and she likes to be listened to. Her leadership and organization skills warrant this.
Pepper can be incredibly emotional, despite not often engaging in romance, and she has a tendency to angry-cry and to shout when upset.
Pepper is not a good cook. She can’t even make good coffee, but she does alright with toast and following the occasional simple recipe if she’s focused.
She’s not musically or artistically inclined, though she’s very good at spotting valuable and aesthetically pleasing art and she has very particular tastes in music.
She’s not nearly as organized in her personal life as she is in her professional one. She makes a serious effort to keep most of her home clean, but in her bedroom, she’s lucky to see the floor some days.
She’s not close to her family. After her father dies, she sees very little point in keeping in contact with her brother and she doesn’t even meet her niece until she’s three and a half.
Pepper prefers tea to coffee when at home, enjoys fruit salad, and has a particular fondness for Greek takeout. Although she hates how cliched it is, she indulges in large quantities of ice cream when she’s upset.
She had a long lesbian phase in college before realizing she could like men and women.
Pepper does not dress well when at home.
Pepper does not like sharing her space with others and is slow to agree to any kind of cohabitation, even in very serious relationships.
Pepper hated her freckles for most of her childhood and only came to accept them in late high school.
Pepper is not a fan of pets and although she tries to keep houseplants, they rarely live long.
