Many suns have risen and sputtered away. Peke had several close calls with strange cats each time the suns have risen, quickly realizing the lands he inhabited were infested with an overwhelming number of strange cats. The cats did not live alone like him, either. He quickly realized how outnumbered he was, and how serious the groups of cats were. They seemed so organized, so purposeful. Leading border and hunting patrols with precision, jabbering to each other in strange code that Peke only barely could comprehend. He trusted none of these cats, and decided to avoid them - despite how his loneliness grew. But the cats guarded precious territory that he needed to steal from; food, water, and shelter all could only be found within colony cat territories. So there was no avoiding them.
So, Peke learned to sneak and hide. Despite his bright, creamy coat, the forest offered plenty of cover for him to lounge in. Spending hours upon hours of the day waiting for the coast to be clear, and listening to their inane jabbers...
