PreserveTube 💝✒️🌐

A separate website where you can view archives of YouTube channels and videos. Keep in mind the process of archiving videos does provide YouTube with traffic, similar to a downloader. However, once a video is archived, it is stored completely separately from YouTube and no longer gives them any traffic. It's not a full, true alternative, but it's pretty good.

A livestreaming platform often used by YouTubers in conjunction with their YouTube channel. You can opt to pay for a subscription to a creator you love if you want to support them, but following is free.

PeerTube 💝✒️🌐

A decentralized video-sharing project that allows individuals to host their own instances, which can operate independently, while still being able to view videos across other instances.

Vimeo 💝🌐🍎🤖🍏🪟

A video-sharing platform. A great recommendation for workspaces or to share work related videos, or for schools to share educational content. With a free account, you can upload 500 MB worth of video per week, and 5 GB maximum.

A video-sharing platform with an old-internet feel.

Another old-internet-style video-sharing website. Be careful, some users have reported encountering upsetting or disturbing content while browsing, but I haven't encountered any issues yet. I've found a lot of my favorite songs on VidLii, some seemingly by official (if old and abandoned) accounts!

Alternative streaming website, easier to navigate than BitView or Glomble.

Vanillo 💝✒️🌐

Still in beta, Vanillo is a video-sharing platform that navigates similarly to YouTube. It is very easy to navigate.

Right now, a one-year subscription to Nebula is only $60! Additionally, you can browse Nebula to see if your favorite creator is on the platform without even signing up!

Edit: added Aethy. So I didn't have a clear idea of how account migration worked, I migrated the Aethy account to Kemokemo but I just found out the Aethy account works the same as it always did, only the profile is greyed out.

Every so often I'll search "Fediverse" in the App Store—not expecting to find anything too exciting. HOWEVER! Today... right at the end of the search query... what did I find? Framasoft's official app release of PeerTube!? 🥹

For the time being, users are able to locate instances and enjoy video content; however, there's no current option to log into accounts. They've stated in the App's description what to expect from future releases, obviously with this feature being a priority.

This AI will 100% target people with invisible disabilities and it's insane that you have to send fucking Google your private data so that this fucking platform will stop treating you like a child for your interests...

And fuck you with the argument "I can't have some kind of anonymity because I use the internet", in the past the internet didn't steal that much data, but you Americans had to fuck it up because of the FBI and "Let's protect the children"

And if you're not from a country like North America and you agree to this shit, then you're complicit. Ableism comes in many forms and what YouTube is doing is one form of ableism: A person with a disability has to prove to able-bodied people that they are an adult and should be treated as such

This AI will be used against disabled people who don't want to give their data to fucking corporations (What kind of standards are these? China is bad because they do it, but when the US does it, suddenly it's okay?)

An alternative to YT is PeerTube, but as I mentioned, the lack of automatic subtitles that can be translated into your language is the worst limitation, and there is also a problem with the content that suits you, because unfortunately, the fediverse does not have the reach of YouTube and therefore there is not much content that could interest you

The text about protecting children is a classic fascist tactic, in my country (Poland) it was used against LGBT+ people (Like calling LGBT+ an "Ideology" which was started by President Andrzej Duda)
