BridgeIT, a partnership between the Pearson Foundation and Nokia, uses mobile phones to deliver professional development materials and educational resources to teachers serving classrooms in developing and emerging countries. The program's aim: to enhance teacher and school system capacity through comprehensive professional development. Even in the most remote areas of participating countries through wireless networks, BridgeIT can bring educational tools to teachers and their students.

Now operating in ten countries around the world, BridgeIT is a public-private partnership among national and regional governments, nonprofits, corporations and other local stakeholders and communities. The Pearson Foundation and Nokia, the main partners, provide funding, program management, pedagogy and technology expertise.

CCSSO 2012 New York Teacher of the Year, Kathleen Ferguson, encourages everyone to take part in Jumpstart's Read for the Record 2012 campaign. Jumpstart's Read for the Record, presented in partnership with the Pearson Foundation, is one day of the year when millions of individuals come together to celebrate literacy and support Jumpstart in its efforts to promote early childhood education.

On October 4, 2012, people across the country will be encouraged to read the children's book Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad, by David Soman and Jacky Davis, in support of Jumpstart's mission to work towards the day that every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.
