This is just a sample. I literally have cards and letters spread all over my bed dating back to 1992.

I am going out of town this weekend. And with that, it brings back memories and nostalgia. Some good, some bad, which leads me (back) here.

This isn't the first time I found myself knee-deep in my past, reliving old lovers, promises, and lifetimes. In a way, it's humbling. But also, it brings back embarrassing mistakes and missed opportunities.

I have processed all of this. Internally, through self reflection, understanding, and accountability, along with the help of therapy.

But it is the "what ifs," that haunts me most, no matter how much therapy or self-improvement I make.

If there's one thing I've learned about trauma, it's that you never really get over it. You just learn how to manage it better.
