PHOENIX COMICON 2016 - SATURDAY
Oh my god. How do I even BEGIN to describe Saturday of Phoenix Comicon this year. Talk about one of the best days of my life.
My boyfriend and I got up and got changed into the Doctor and Rose to prepare for the big day, i.e., MEETING BILLIE PIPER OH MY GOD?!?!?!? We barely made it to the photos on time while finding our Donna and Martha, but before long, we were well on our way to the front. I swear the moment I saw Billie I actually just started crying uncontrollably. I was super lucky - I had a photo of just myself and her, and then our whole group as well. She said it was “like looking in a mirror” and gave me a huge hug, which was. Just. I can’t even believe that was real oh my god. I sobbed for a good 10 minutes after that.
We all went over to the TARDIS to say hi to all our friends and get some photos, and then back over to Billie Piper’s autograph line so my other Rose could get her photo signed. I figured that it was a great way to be able to say hi to her again, but while we were waiting, we noticed Alex Kingston’s line was RIDICULOUSLY short. My boyfriend promptly dropped the money to get an autograph, and as we left, she told him “I just. I can’t get over it, you look like bloody David!!!” which left us both speechless, coming from HER of all people.
Another day another panel though! We SPRINTED across the convention to get to our Moffat Era of Doctor Who discussion panel, which went really well. There was SO much to discuss in so little time, but I had a lot of fun.
After that, we got some photos taken of our cosplays from Bishi Bird, the ever amazing dweeb. I got wayyyyy too hungry though, so then we all went to get pizza across the street. We all rested up, got changed, and then went to the Blue Ribbon Army party. Plenty of dancing and good fun, and I finally got to properly meet the amazing River Song cosplayer I had seen earlier that day. Drag queens are literally queens and should be worshipped as such ouo
When we finally got back to the hotel, well past midnight, I ran into some people who attended the Moffat panel, and we had an absolutely amazing time talking. I don’t think I got to bed until 3 AM that night!
