#PBTopPicks highlights our favorite comic books! From single issues to mini-series to full runs by a creative team, these books are #TheBestoftheBest! #JohnnytheHomicidalManiac is one of the funniest, zaniest, most outlandish books Iâve ever read! This book had me literally laughing out loud! I think Iâve read it about six times now, song with itâs sequel, #Squee. From the mind of #JhonenVasquez comes The story of Johnny C., a man in his early 20s who elaborately and gloriously slaughters anyone who irritates him. Like door-to-door salesmen, census surveyors, people who use the word âwacky,â...the list goes on. And on, and on. If youâve never read #JtHM, you absolutely need to. Pick up the #directorscut trade paperback, which comes in both soft and hardcover, and includes a "Gallery of Ancient Horrors" that features a few strips previously published in the Mount Pleasant High School newspaper and Carpe Noctem, as well as some strips previously unpublished, all with funny director commentary. However, if you can get the original issues, d it. The reprints shouldnât be too pricey. The trade is great, but it does not include many of the filler strips that came with the original seven issues, which featured the all-but psychotic adventures of one of Vasquezâs most insane characters, #HappyNoodleBoy. The fact is, once you read Johnny once, youâre gonnaâ wannaâ read it again. Youâre gonnaâ want more. So after you read the trade, youâre gonnaâ want to get the original issues. And the sequel, Squee, and the sequel to the sequel, #IFeelSick. This is one of my al-time favorite books, and a #MustRead for any comic fan who might enjoy their humor a little on the dark and twisted side. Sanity is overrated anyway. #BestoftheBest #TopPicksTuesday Have you read Johnny the Homicidal Maniac? Comment your thoughts here!
