The situation had been more tense than usual. The events surrounding the Kingâs death were alarming, to say the least. The protection of his boss was more important than ever now, him being a next possible target. Whatever, he was not supposed to think about any of that, not tonight. Tonight was a night to unwind and have a couple of drinks. He sat at the bar, both seats next to him empty. Percy hardly ever noticed it anymore. People avoided him, humans and saints alike. They knew of his power. There was something awfully isolating about being stuck between two words at odds. It took him a while before the bartender would tend to his order, and even then, it was nearly shoved over to him. He would harness that, their spite and disdain towards him. But tonight he had no mind-set to do any of that.
He swirled the somewhat empty whiskey glass and watched the orange go round and round, trying his hardest to keep his mind off of it. He downed his drink at once and ordered another one. To his surprise, someone took the seat next to him. Percy didnât bother to look, until he noticed that they werenât leaving. âYou sure you want to be taking that seat?â Percy spoke, sounding threatening. They might as well see him for the monster they thought he was. It brought him some joy at last, as shown by the tiny grin hidden behind the crystal glass.
