The book contains 58 portraits from the series Performers, which are accompanied by quotes of some of the artists, unfolding their thoughts on the relation between performance art and photography. The book has been published with support of Pori Art Museum in Finland.

During the last three years I visited as many festivals and performance art venues as I could and endeavoured to depict their participants. My aim is not the documentation of action but to capture the personalities behind the work. Usually I take the photo right after a performance with the purpose of retaining the energy that a live presentation imbues in the artist. Moreover I intend to situate the figure in a relevant background, in which various meanings come across suggesting associations between the corporal expression and the intensity of the surrounding space.
