This novel called "Rue des Martyrs" is written by Patrick Eudeline, who is a legendary rock critic. He has contributed to Rock and Folk, Actuel, Libération, Nova and Technikart magazines. He is the author of L'Aventure Punk (Fasquelle, 1977), a first novel, Ce Siècle aura ta peau (Florent Massot, 1997), and Dansons sous les bombes (2002), published by Grasset. In 2009 he published "Rue des Martyrs" and wrote it for Alain Kan and Tina Aumont.
1966. Jérôme, a seventeen-year-old heartthrob, has rock 'n' roll in his blood. A first record deal should open the doors to stardom. He has two friends, who are almost his alter egos: Chouraqui, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and Gudule, his sister-lover. Alas! It's not so easy being a pop star. From the seventies to the year 2000, from the Drugstore to the Palace, from jerk to punk, from the Beatles to Bowie, from the spotlight to the backstage shadows, from eternal youth to a troubled sex life... An underground icon of the sixties, Jérôme loses everything and eventually disappears, an enigma that remains unsolved for his contemporaries. Until a certain day in October 2008 when this ghost of show business returns. Who will he haunt?

Punk glamour in the years of the early french punk scene:
Patrick Eudeline, notorious rock critic and later on lead singer & guitarist of one of the earliest french punk bands, Asphalt Jungle, and Alain Pacadis, iconic dandy-punk journalist and nightclubber who literally spent his life on sex, drugs and rock 'n’ roll, in the company of emblematic figures of the ‘70s Parisian nightlife, such as Marie-France, Dina et Marlène in 1978 (photos by BJEP, a photographers’ collective consisting of Alain Bali, David Cosset & Jean-Luc Maby, who wish to publish their images under a single signature).
