I know to Brian and Patrick Burke their work with You Can Play isn't over until they aren't needed anymore (i.e. when being gay is no longer a headline in hockey).
But I just....I hope they are partying it up somewhere today. I wonder if they started to feel that it just wasn't going to happen. It's been 11 years since Brendan died, 12 since he came out. Not even a decade since You Can Play started. And it's finally happened. An NHL player came out.
