How come none of the residents (pathology residents, future doctors, who need to know how to dissect human organs, as the final diagnosis of a person’s health journey, from general practitioner to imager to surgeon to pathologist and all the steps in between, relies upon them and them solely) know how to gross female breasts? Absolute shit at it, don’t know what they’re doing. Pathologist called me up and yelled at me for not watching the on-call resident gross, when like. They out rank me. They’re the ones that should be calling the shots. How am I to know that they’re fucking up if they don’t ask me about the specimen, when we’re understaffed and drowning in other cancerous (life-changing) specimens to the point where if residents don’t gross cases, we as a hospital, are fucked. Do they hate that cis women, trans men and nonbinary people? Probably not. But the apathetic apparatus of health care, with its thousands of millions of cogs, in this country needs to change if we want a healthy populous.
