I'm regret nothing...
-"Enter Hardcore as Fuck Nickname Here"
Imagine going to a school dance, expecting to be having a date with the most popular boy in school but you come to see him making out with another girl, and all his friends gang up and start bullying you, and Ryan Ross breaks in, pulling you away to the parking lot, where you both sit on the sidewalk, where he helps you through an anxiety attack, and you two just walk around until the end of the dance, and before you leave, he kisses you…
I was so excited. I couldn't stop smiling as I straitened my hair, and pinned a big red fabric rose on the side. I did my makeup with a black winged eyeliner, and red eyeshadow, red blush, and maroon lips. I finished off with the short black lace dress, midnight red and black striped tights, and black 2 inch heel ankle boots. I smiled in the mirror, for the first time I felt beautiful. No one had ever asked me on a date before, let alone to a school dance. That was always for the cool kids with tons of friends, whereas I was alone.
Now, going from that, to having the most popular boy in my school, of all people, ask me to the biggest dance of the year. I walked proudly out of the house, my father was already passed out on the couch with a bottle of whiskey dangling in his hand. I just walked passed him, and went out the front door, walking excitedly down the street lamp lit sidewalks, until I came to the high school. I could hear the music inside, and see the multi colored lights shining off the windows. I took a deep breath and swung open the door nearly skipping in, and went quickly into the gym where the dance was being held, and froze.
I felt my entire body go numb, as I stared at the boy who'd asked me here locking lips with some other girl, who was ten times prettier than me. I stumbled back, hoping to make a quick escape, and run home before he saw me, but I ran into two guys, and turned quickly, seeing two of his friends standing there, smirking down at me.
"Ah, look how sad, she actually thought he'd want a girl like her," one of them said.
"Really? I mean look at you, and then," he turned me, and pointed at him making out with the girl, "look at her. You're not anything close to that."
"Well hey, don't scare her off yet. Now, we get to have some fun with her," two other guys walked up on the other side of me, and closed me in, touching me, and shoving me into the others, and taunting.
"Stop," I pleaded, but they ignored me and kept laughing, and moving in closer, "I said stop!" I cried, and they still ignored me. I felt like I could faint right there, my vision was blurring, and my heart was racing.
Just then somebody shoved between them, grabbing my hand, and crashing through the barrier of guys, and pulled me fast behind him, until I felt a burst of cold air drench my skin.
He stopped, and helped me sit down on the curb, and then let go of my hand. I looked up seeing a tall slender guy, with brown hair, that was sort of choppy, and went over one eye, in a sharp side bang. He was wearing a red silk shirt with a black vest over it, and a big red rose pinned on the chest, that looked just like the one in my hair, and black pants. He had enchanting, really dark brown eyes, and lighter skin. He smiled shyly, at me, and he asked, "Are you okay?"
"Umm, y-yeah," I said in a shaky, voice, and tried to make myself breath evenly again, "I-I'm, I don't like crowds,
I stuttered, "O-or, people," I gasped slightly.
He put his arm around me, trying to help calm me down, "Just breath, in… Out," he coached, and I did as he said, trying to match my breathing to his words, in a steady rhythm.
I started to catch my breath, and sighed in relief as the pressure came off of me, and I could see clearly again, and relaxed.
He smiled, "You okay now?"
I nodded, and smiled back at him. Damn he was gorgeous! I laughed lightly at that, thinking how I probably looked hideous after all of that.
"What?" he asked.
I shook my head, and whipped my eyes, hoping my eyeliner didn't smear.
"You look beautiful," he said, "If it's not to weird to say, those guys are idiots."
I smiled shyly now, and looked at the ground blushing. I hoped it didn't show through the makeup though.
We were quiet for a while, and then he asked, "So, do you want to go back in there, or just sit here for the next two hours?"
I thought, hell no I didn't want to go back in, it made me tense up just thinking about it, but I guess I really didn't know what else to do, "Well, I most certainly don't want to go back in there," I muttered.
He smiled wider, "Alright then, we'll just sit here," he leaned back on his hands, and I just looked at him then stared at the lines of the parking lot.
We sat in silence for about half an hour, and then I looked back at him hopefully. He glanced at me, and smiled, "You want to just walk around?" he asked.
"Yes," I said thankfully, and he laughed getting up, and taking my hand. I stared at it, and he let go quickly putting his hands awkwardly in the vest pockets, before he started walking down the sidewalk.
I walked quickly to catch up, and we just walked out of the schools parking lot, and down the sidewalk until it was out of sight.
"By the way I'm Ryan," he said.
"Oh right," I didn't realize he'd never said his name, "I'm Y/N."
"I know," he smiled, and looked ahead.
"Why did you help me?" I asked suddenly, after being silent for a long while.
He looked at me, and then ahead, and said, "I've seen you around, and well i've always been I guess intrigued by you, and when I saw them tormenting you, it was like something else took over me, and I had to help you," I smiled, and pursed my lips trying to hide it, looking down at my feet, "Besides, it's not like I was eager to stand in the dark corner of the crowded gym alone, all night anyways. I saw a way out," he smirked at me & I laughed quietly.
We were quiet again, and I said, "Why haven't I ever seen you around?"
"I would assume because you're so busy blocking out all the jack asses around you, you don't have time to notice the good guys," he smiled at me, and I smiled back.
After a while the street lights started to lessen, until they all completely disappeared, until we were walking in near pure darkness, the only light was from the cloud covered moon shining down on us.
I looked around nervously. It wasn't that I was afraid of the dark, but I lived in a kind of sketchy neighborhood, and let's just say our city wasn't really known for it's hospitable patrons. I started walking closer to him, and he noticed, laughing and said, "What? Are you afraid of the dark?"
"No, I'm afraid of what can be concealed by the dark," I said, and he took his hands out of his pockets, and put one securely around my shoulders, "Don't worry, I do this all the time, anything out here isn't going to hurt you so long as you're with me."
I smiled, and stopped. He stopped too, and looked at me worriedly. I just smiled at him, and hugged him. He was surprised for a second, and then smiled, putting his arms around me, and leaning his head into my neck. He was taller than me, so I was laying my head on his chest. I felt safe, and happy in his long arms. It was like everything else didn't matter.
"Thank you," I whispered.
He brushed his fingers through my hair and said, "Thank you…"
I let go, and he took my hand, more confidently this time, and we kept walking. Not saying anything, just walking. The next few hours went by quickly, and we were back at my house. I stopped remembering my father. He might be awake now, not likely, but maybe.
"Umm, I'll see you at school i guess," I finally had something to look forward to.
He smiled and nodded, putting one hand behind my neck, and the other on my waist, he pulled me to him, and kissed me lightly, "Goodnight, Y/N," I smiled at him, and he turned walking cooly back down the sidewalk.
I put my fingers gently on my lips, remembering it, and whispered, "Goodnight, Ryan," before walking quietly in the house, and going into my room, not getting any sleep just thinking about him.

Can I just say I had to fight the urge to turn this into a paranormal imagine, and have Ryan be a vampire, making the walking in the dark creepy place scene longer… I so regret it… Though you should all know that I will HAPPILY write paranormal imagines if you'd like…
