Patchwork Caine Rough Sketch
Finally got around to drawing Caine, did a number of prelim sketches before coming to this design. Not officially finalized, but I feel it's close to what I want for Patchwork Caine to look like.
My brain kept wanting to put him in some sort of Doctors attire, as if he was patching up people that were hurt, but at the same time, that didn't feel right or accurate.
Then I stumbled upon a reference that made things click. Victor Frankenstein. A doctor that doesn't look nor act like a traditional doctor, a man who "patched" up a person made from multiple people. Plus, given he comes from an early gothic era style setting - which I adore for horror by the by ( Bloodborne fan if you didn't know ) - putting Caine in something akin to that and changing some colours around while keeping them in line with his Ringmaster look just made it all work so well.
Black waistcoat with gold underlining, reddish ascot/neckerchief, no tophat, blue gloves, the permanent red and blue bloodshot eyes with fixed white pupils, red boots and trousers which I never realized were actually just fully connected and seperate things in his base model.
I may change some things here and there like I did for the Circus Members from their initial sketches to final designs, but it's nice to have something to work with and actually share.
( Also, is it super obvious that have very little experience drawing Caine, like at all - I'll get better, that damn mouth head of his is so hard to draw XD )
Oh, unintentional detail. The reference pose I used was someone standing with a thinking look hence the hand placement, but because of how ambiguous Caine's expression is, you could also look at him shushing the viewer or whoever it is he's facing, which is like extra creepy.
