Last week me and Jocke did our Patchouli Bros Sweden Tour. The route went like so: Stockholm - Oskarshamn - Gotland - Nynäshamn - Stockholm. Here's a short recap from one of this summers best trips.
Stockholm - Oskarshamn On the first half of the trip we rode from Stockholm to Oskarshamn along the Cykelspåret längs ostkusten. Two long days but ever so rewarding. We even got to ride in the moonlight, which was nice. The cykelspåret was really well marked and we didn't get lost once. I manage to get a nasty cut in my front tire (repaired with duct tape, woohoo!) and couple of flats. Other than that it was small country roads and fine weather. Leg total was roughly 410km http://www.strava.com/activities/181483335
Gotland Once in Oskarshamn we took the evening ferry to Visby, Gotland. We spent the night and the following day in Visby just chilling. In the afternoon we were back on the saddle and headed north. Our route in Gotland went like this: Visby - Kappelshamn - Fårö - Slite - Katthammarsvik - Ljugarn - Romakloster- Visby. Loads of good conditioned small roads, epic scenery, good food and bad jokes. Along the coast was definetly the best way to experience Gotland. Katthammarsvik, Herrvik and Ljugarn are on the east coast and all located near each other. Really nice places with good restaurants and nice beaches. Too bad the sea water was too cold for our liking, so we opted for beers in the camping area pool (yes, there was a pool!). The rauk area in the north (Fårö) is a must visit, too. Leg total was roughly 300km http://www.strava.com/activities/181483198
Back on the mainland We took the ferry back to Nynäshamn which is only 70km from Stockholm but decided to take the bus into Stockholm so that we could go hang around in Södermalm before our ferry departed. Otherwise there would have been no time for that and quite frankly that was one of the best choices. At this point we were quite fed up with this bike touring malarkey :)
