List 5 things that make you happy then send this to the 10 most recent people in your activity. 💖💖💖
Hohoh. Five things that make me happy. Well,,
The first thing would be getting to hang out with those I care about. Whether that’s just through talking or sharing things we’ve found or come up with through the day, or getting to play games and watch movies with each other, or even sit in comfortable silence as we do our own things, knowing the other is there and open to interaction at any time, it’s all good to me.
The second would be playing video games in general. Losing myself in the fictional lives of characters that aren’t bound by this world’s rules and laws of physics is endlessly self-consuming. Where I can worry about problems with immediate solutions that are easy to achieve through some grinding or questing, rather than the enigma of real life’s scattered cause and effect. And honestly the ability to do some of the things those characters can do in games is empowering on so many emotional levels.
Next on the list would be quiet time. Not necessarily physical silence, even though I enjoy that too, but not being obligated to think about anything important. During times I can sit, untroubled, and just draw or read or listen to music or nap, or any other peaceful activity. There are bonus points for solitude, but I’ll definitely take what I can get.
I love the feeling of overcoming difficult problems; figuring something technical out and being able to apply it in my life, solving an issue by means of experimentation or exploration, stumbling upon fixes and options to situations I’d all but resigned myself to, and the likes. Knowing that through it all my effort paid off and the reward is success is a special kind of catharsis, and is often the only thing that can keep me trying at something that gives me nothing but trouble.
And lastly, the casual interaction within fandoms or social groups. A comment here, an ask there, a gift to someone else by way of any kind of art, others indulging in multi-paragraph analysis of seemingly small and simple things. Even just observing it from afar brings a gentle feeling to my heart, and I’ve watched many friends and acquaintances grow over the years and develop their own little communities of support and friendly banter. It’s always so nice seeing others in cozy environments like that, and while I might like to be a part of them I know I’m not the most social out there, and am just as content to see it happening around me.
