Partial Transparency by Sarah Hawkinson Honestly, I wanted to like this book, but it was just kind of "meh" in my opinion. The writing was beautiful, but the world building was confusing and I'm not entirely sure what the plot was supposed to be. One specific example of the confusing world building: the main character passed out, then compares coming to as watching a Polaroid picture fade in...although there is absolutely no hint that the main character would ever have come into contact with one, which made me question why that metaphor was used. The story was interesting and the writing was pretty, but I didn't really connect with any of the characters and I was left with more questions about the discrepancies in the world building and descriptions than I did for what might happen after I closed the book. 3/5 stars.
