hey! there's lots of different types of factives in ur bio, could you give some definitions of them? I don't know many of the terms. thank you!! :)
Hello, and thank you for asking! We used to put definitions on our tag page, but your ask reminds me to move them somewhere others can see them more easily.
(Scroll down for the fact-type specific ones)
I hope this helps! If you still have any questions, feel free to send us another ask.

The definitions listed below are a common, current (as of 2021) understanding of the term; however, they are not universal.
Terms have always been evolving, too, so we also recommend looking on our Information tag, our blog recs, and on specific communities/blogs for a deeper understanding of these experiences.
Different people, systems, and communities may use different meanings for a single term, and/or have a personal understanding of certain labels. Some people don't even use any labels. All of them should be respected.
Involuntary: not chosen, out of your control
(Some people's identity/ies cannot, and should not, be put in voluntary/involuntary dichotomy.)
Alterhuman: an opt-in label and umbrella term for anyone who doesnât identify with the âtypicalâ experiences of humanity, can be voluntary or involuntary or anything else. This not only encompasses otherkin, therian, and the like, but also experiences like plurality, furry lifestylers, post-human, transhuman, and voidpunk. (not plural-specific)
Kin: someone who involuntarily identifies as something/someone else. Kin may be a past life, but is different from them, because kin identity is one that still affects you right now, whether you have/believe in a past life or not. (not plural-specific)
Otherkin (also called "otherkind", usually by older community members): someone who involuntarily identifies as something nonhuman (not plural-specific)
Therian: someone who involuntarily identifies as an animal, or someone who involuntarily identifies as nonhuman in an animalistic/feral/non-sentient way (not plural-specific)
Theriomythic: like âtherianâ but speciifcally mythical animal
Link: to voluntarily identify/be/experience alterhumanity
Otherlink: someone who voluntarily identifies as something/someone else (not plural-specific)
Copinglink: someone who voluntarily identifies as something/someone else, but specifically chooses that identity to cope with something (not plural-specific)
Tulpamancy (sometimes called thoughtforming): the act of creating another sapient, sentient person in your mind/body
Hearted/kith: to feel like you're connected/related to something/someone in an alterhuman sense
Other/fictionhearted (also called other/fictionkith or synpath): someone who identifies with (not as), or strongly relates to another being (real, mythical, nonhuman, or fictional), like you have an affinity with them, but they're not you (not plural-specific)
Fictionfolk: someone who experiences a ficto-identity (fictional identity), that is, an identity of someone or something that has been/will be depicted in fiction
Factfolk: someone who experiences a fact-identity (factual identity), that is, an identity of someone or something that exists/existed in real life.
It could be someone you know, a stranger, a public figure, a person from a specific era, an animal, a species, a building, a concept, a place, or even personifications (e.g. of a country, of a mental illness, etc.) and religious/mythical figures (even divine kin/hearted/etc. may identify as having a fact identity if they have believe that supernatural beings are real)
Factive (also called factual introject): a system member with the identity of someone/something that exists/existed in real life; could be made/split by the brain or a walk-in from another world
"Factive" and "Factual Introject" mean pretty much the same thing. However, "factual introject" has a medical connotation, and generally used by people who are made/split in the brain.
Partial Factive (also called demi-/semi-factive): a system member who partially has the identity of someone/something that exists/existed in real life; could be made/split by the brain or a walk-in from another world
Fucktive (also called fcktive, f*cktive, or faitive if you prefer to not have swear words): a system member with the identity that's both factual and fictional, such as a famous person's persona (like a wrestler or youtuber's alter egos), or a factive of a fictive in someone else's system, or someone who just relates to being fiction- and fact-folk at the same time
Fogtive: a system member with an identity that's almost but not quite based on a real-life person
Factkin (also called factualkin or diaunthro): someone involuntarily identifying as a someone/something that exists/existed in real life (not plural-specific)
Factlink: someone voluntarily identifying as someone/something that exist/existed in real life (not plural-specific)
Facthearted (also called factkith or fact-synpath): someone who identifies with (not as), or strongly relates to someone/something that exist/existed in real life, like you have an affinity with them, but they're not you (not plural-specific)
Celetherian: someone whose identity is an animal who is named and known to the public, such as Dolly the sheep or Laika the dog (not plural specific)
This label is made of the words "celebrity" and "therian".
