Parking Pain: New York City Tops the U.S.
The IBM Global Parking Survey, which surveyed 8,024 commuters from around the world, shows the top 20 international cities commuters face a daily headache of finding a parking spot. In the past year, more than 60% of drivers have abandoned their search for a space at least once. The report also estimates that over 30% of traffic in a city is caused by drivers searching for a parking spot. We, at Parkit Labs, see that this is a huge problem worldwide and hate to see spaces to going waste when there are hundreds of people looking for one. Share your spots with us, help another out, and pay it forward.
New York City, where Parkit Labs is based, has the worst parking situation in the U.S. and ranks number 15 among 20 cities in the world. But, if you are complaining about not finding a spot here, just think that how many other residents have it far worse, in places like New Delhi, Bangalore, Beijing, Moscow, and Shenzhen. Thank goodness that you’re here and we are going to help you out.
Stayed tuned and, in the meantime, use the Parkit app to find the parking sweet spot.
