#repost via @mxxre #FBF 1993/4~ The first deal I did as a young Creative Manager at Warner/Chappell Music was Terri & Monica. I had been A&R Assistant to their A&R person at Epic, my dear friend Paris Davis, who also signed Groove Theory. The album didn't do well, and I questioned my "ears" (and was a little worried about my job 😁). However, a short time later Terri mentioned to me she had been in the studio co-writing with Heavy D. From that songwriting collaboration, Soul 4 Real's "Candy Rain" and "Every Little Thing I Do" were written. "Candy Rain" was my first (of many 😏) #1 R&B/Top 10 Hot 100 hits as a music publisher. Terri also co-wrote "Can't You See" for Total, and either co-wrote or sang background for Mary J. Blige, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, and many others. Monica, a great songwriter and savvy businesswoman in her own right, now manages V Bozeman along with many other successful business ventures.
