So... Kit told his parents. About Greer being declared missing, about the ongoing investigation, about how heās been called in for not one but two questionings with the police. It was one of the scariest things heās done in his life, but it also lifted a huge weight off of his shoulders. No longer did he have to keep things from the two people he was closest to in life. No longer were his nights long and restless, stressing over the half-truths heād tell them during their catch-up calls. It was all out in the open now, and Kit couldnāt be more relieved. Of course, being the concerned parents they were, Kit should have seen the visit from one of his parents coming from a mile away. Regardless of how unnecessary he told them it was, once Dennis and Michelle Kallberg decided on something, it was rare that a change in plans ever occurred. So about a couple of days later, boom, there his dad was. In the flesh and hugging him so tight that Kit thought his spine would snap in half.Ā
It wasnāt his dadās first time at the college. Heād visited before along with his mom back when Kit was still a fresh face on this campus. Attending Ogden was sort of a huge accomplishment for him, so a tour of the renown college was inevitable when he first started out. After catching his dad up on all the drama heās dealt with recently in a bit more detail and showing him around the spots at the college heād frequent, the two Kallberg men were on their way off campus to get something to eat. It was then that they ran into Parisa. Well,Ā āran intoā. Kit spotted her, they were crossing paths, and he felt really weird about not saying hi or anything so he did.Ā āParisa, hey.ā He noticed his dad perk up beside him, always the type to get excited when it seemed like Kit knew someone. āUh, this is my dad. Dennis. Heās, uh... visiting. For like two days.ā That was all his dad needed to jump in himself, extending his hand with a wide smile, ever the people person. āThis is Parisa,ā he told his father. āRemember back when I told you I was looking for a birthday gift for a really good friend? Real fashionable type?ā It was ages ago. Way back towards the end of August. āThis is her.ā Though the closeness he and Parisa shared was questionable these days. Their friendship suffered a fallout and was tentatively on the mend after their last conversation. Kit told his parents a lot but he didnāt tell them everything. His fallout with Parisa being one of those things.

Kit was not doing good. His interview didnāt go the way he expected to. If he thought Jesse being mentioned was bad, things took a swan dive off the edge of a cliff once Link was brought up. By the end of it, the whole thing was just a mass of rubble and angry flames. Blinking away the tears that welled at his eyes, a loud banging from the main door yanked Kitās attention away from a text message he was drafting his dad, figuring now more than ever that it was important to tell his parents everything that was going on. With a sniffle and the swipe of the back of his hand against his cheek, he stood from his desk and walked out of his room, feet carrying him to the front door. āYeah, hold up, Iām comingāā He told the panicked knocker. When he twisted the knob and pulled back the door, the sight he was greeted with wasnāt one he expected to see. āParisa?ā Looking unlike herself. Hair disheveled. Gasping for breath. Concern spiked in him and he stepped forward. āWhatās going on? You okay?ā

Kit wasnāt too active on the campus group chat. Hardly actually. Even less this year since Greerās been missing. That didnāt mean he didnāt check it though. He usually read through what people had to say when he was on this way back from the gym, like right now. Freshly showered with his bag slung of a shoulder, his thumb moved slowly along the screen to review what he missed. Something about bootlickers and... breakfast? A lot of conversations tended to happen at once in this online space. It wasnāt unusual for Kit to feel lost as he read through it. But then he saw his name, and things took a turn from there. It begun with plans for a cooking contest and apparently ended with... Oran and Parisa breaking up? Jesus. Over hanging out him? What a massive tool. A steaming pile of shit had more appeal than that guy. He exited out of the campus group chat and pulled up his text thread with Parisa, typing out a quick message to her as he made his way across the quad.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā hey, i just caught up on the campus group chat. you ok?
CLOSED STARTER FOR @parisadavani LOCATION: Campus Dining HallĀ
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Hey! Happy birthday. :) Meet me at the dining hall?
Kit was going to be honest: this wasnāt his initial plan. But between his godawful hangover, Greer being declared missing and the cops wanting to speak to him once Monday rolled around, a lot of things slipped his mind until his interview was over and done with. Including going into the city to get Parisa a birthday present. However, Kit wasnāt a quitter. Parisa has really been there for him since the school year started and he wanted to show her just how much he appreciated that, and her as a person, by trying to make her special day still feel like her special day despite the cop-infested campus. Not an easy task but he was going to try his best.
With the text sent out, all Kit had to do now was wait. He stood outside of the dining hall, a kidās party bag in one hand and his phone in his other. He figured heād busy himself with a few games of Subway Surfers until Parisa turned up. When she finally did, the corners of his lips pulled upwards in a wide smile. It was nice to see her. Even if he could see a pair of cops in the background, stopping some student for questioning in the distance. āSome way to spend a birthday, huh?ā Kit spoke once Parisa she was close enough, exiting out of his game and shoving his phone into the pocket of his jeans.Ā āHope it hasnāt been too terrible though. And if it has, Iām looking to change that.ā He held out out the party bag to her. Inside of it, sheād find a party hat.Ā āThis isnāt your present by the way. Itās just a prerequisite before we go inside.ā

CLOSED STARTER FOR @parisadavaniā LOCATION: Kitās Room (atm, but itāll probably change soon)
Kit woke up groggy and with his head pounding. His mouth felt so dry, he could have probably sanded down a wall with his tongue. With a groan, he lifted his head up off his bed, peering to the side only to be assaulted by sunlight. Immediately, he winced and turned away. Heād forgotten to close his curtains last night. Great. He kept his head down, buried against the softness of his pillow as he felt around on his side table for his phone. It was where he usually left it after a night out. Unless... He whipped his head up, patting the surface frantically but there was only his lamp and his dorm keys. He shot out of bed, a wave of nausea hitting him, but he persisted as his panic kept him on his feet. It was only when his gaze fell to the floor and he saw his phone there, connected to the cord of its charger, that he felt his heartrate start to slow. Thank fuck, he thought, walking over to snatch it off the ground. He must have knocked it over after plugging it in to charge it overnight.Ā
Sitting back down on his bed, Kit tugged the connector off of his phone and swiped up on the screen to check the time. It was just past half eleven, which wasnāt so bad. In the past, he usually found himself rousing from slumber past noon so this was a major improvement. As he stared at his screen, he couldnāt help but notice the messages heād collected while he was out cold. A couple from his mom and dad, a few from his high school group chat calledĀ āDa Boisā, but interestingly (and recently) were texts from Parisa. He couldnāt remember too much of last night but he did recall seeing her at some point. A creased began to form on his forehead, his brows pushing together as he read her texts. Something about not going to her room, texting her when heās awake so that sheād tell him what was going on... What was going on? He thought. With a shrug and a few swipes and taps from his thumb, Kit unlocked his phone and typed out a reply to Parisa, figuring he was about to find out.Ā
To Parisa Davani:Ā morning. whats up?
