Paris siege: Terror attack mastermind's fate unclear
French authorities are waiting for confirmation of the identities of two people who died in the siege at a flat in the Saint Denis suburb of Paris. There are reports  one of those killed may have been Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the alleged mastermind behind last Friday's attacks, which killed 129 people. Investigators are also hoping to confirm if Salah Abdeslam - one of the suspected gunmen - was in the building during the raid by 100 heavily armed police.
Everything led us to believe that, considering their armaments, the structured organisation and their determination, they were ready to act.

A hunt is also under way for a man known as Mohammed K, who police in Belgium think may be an explosives expert who built suicide vests for the attackers. Two bodies were found in the rubble of the apartment complex after a blast thought to have been caused when a woman, named in reports as Abaaoud's cousin Hasna Aitboulachen, detonated a suicide vest. Explosions and gunfire rang out in Saint Denis as police entered the complex shortly after 4am local time. Nearby buildings were evacuated and the area around Place Jean Jaures was sealed off.
