ok, gonna be honest with all of you I am going to reblog very little about the paris attacks (at least compared to how much I reblog about most things) because:
1) we don’t know enough yet for me to feel comfortable doing so (I’m trying to keep up with the bbc’s livestream but it’s a lot of information and is quite garbled, for obvious reasons)
2) Very few of the posts I am seeing are ones that I feel are appropriate for a time of mourning, especially while people are still in a state of shock. Some of them I do agree with, but I don’t intend to voice that now, because I think I need to give it time first.
3) It is very easy to focus on who is to blame, rather than the fact that over a hundred people were killed. And I do understand that (and as I already said, I am agreeing with most of what I see) but I just don’t feel comfortable posting that at a time when France is in a state of shock, and so am I. I have relatives in Paris, and thankfully they are ok, but many people are dead or wounded. I feel that I need to give myself time to process the tragedy before I get involved in the politics of the situation
I am not saying that I’m judging anyone else, and I’m not saying that other people can’t get involved in that, but I’m just not happy with talking about it myself, and therefore am not going to.
All I can do is hope that these horrific events are over, and offer my sympathies to those affected.
