And so we did now... I am happy the price to pay for the mistake is still a small one compared to what it could have been... We had Eid holidays from friday to monday so we decided to go to Musandam for 2 nights. We had to go anyway for buni's visa so we said we'll take a nice break at the sea. But starting with wednesday evening you got a cold, runny nose, fever and a bit of caughing. A few sleepless nights, we said if fever stops we still go. Fever stopped indeed by saturday morning, but you still had runny nose and the caugh was getting harder making it quite hard for you to sleep. We decided to still go, and this was the mistake. We left at mid-day hoping you will sleep in the car - i was wrong; because of the caugh you bearly managed to sleep...not even 30min... You even said 'sofia is a little bit tired'... It took 3 hours to get there (driving & border controls). We stopped by the first Atana hotel that we saw, looked quite nice, we go in, they say 'ah no, your booking is at our sister hotel, drive another few kilometers)... I was already put of:( We arrived at the sister hotel, not impressed at all... We were hungry, you were tired... We go our room...19 degrees on the AC (this is smth i really hate in the middle east), i turn it off open the doors, you were all sweaty, i start to get slightly annoyed. Also, even though i always take care to take double bed, this room had 2 separate beds... We put them together, still room to fill in between them, i can already imagine how we will struggle during the night. Not to mention that the sofa on which buni was supposed to sleep was super tiny so that was not good either. I try to put you to bed, you're to excited to fall asleep quickly. We try again in the end we succeed. At one point i almost fall in between the beds, i curse in my mind and pray this does not happened during the night. We already discuss about leaving after the first night. Daddy goes and asks if we will get charged, they send him back saying they'll check. After maybe only 30min you wake up caughing really bad, caugh that turns into vomitting :( At that point we decide to go back to Dubai even now, safer to be home in our bed, close to medical facilities if needed. We calm you down, clean you, and you and me we go to say we want to check out and if any possibility of not getting charged for both nights. Long story short we pay the entire thing, we leave and after 3 more hours we arrive back home. We started driving at almost 7pm and got home close to 10pm, way past your bedtime ....in a day when you spent 6hrs in the car seat, not sleeping or eating properly. I think i've never heard you cry so much as you did on the way back and this is because we made a mistake. What we decided: - we are not leaving the house with you sick; must be pretty damn important for this to happen again - holidays in the middle east with a baby are not really worth it - all you get to see is the sea, and this we have in Dubai no need to travel for it... At most 1 day trips with no more than 1.5hrs drive, max 2. I think some things (expectations/plans) we have not yet adjusted from married to married with kids :) Followups of the trip? You are recovering and feeling better every day. Daddy and buni are sick :( I was out for almost half a day after we came back from tiredness and lack of proper food. But this is a small price to pay still. I am happy if we get to learn our lesson and improve ;) sometimes you just need to stop pushing to hard.
