Paraghoul are said to be born when an umbrella is blown away and never retrieved. This Pokemon hops around on its single foot, searching for a new owner. As lonely nights pass, it succumbs more and more to despair. Paraghoul tongues constantly emit digestive enzymes, and they eat by licking food over and over. They love sweets, and often raid ice cream parlors when they feel sad.

Umbralla's tongue extends out both sides of its body. It flaps its tongue like wings, despite being able to levitate without effort. This Pokemon's saliva is an extremely corrosive acid, capable of eroding titanium with a single lick. Any wound it licks is incapable of healing. Its multitude of eyes allows it to see everything around it. Those it reveals its central eye to are said to be doomed.
