Ride number 41 for 2024:
We did a little meet and greet with a paradressage rider. Iβm a little nervous to share Mr Mustang, but I really really trust her coach, and I think Mr Mustang could be really special for a para rider to get to ride. Heβs calm, kind, and highly educated. He tries his heart out and isnβt spooky.
The meet and greet went well! I rode around and showed off his stuff. The student rode around and tried him out. Iβm a bit worried about interfering with my own training, but I know this coach well and she respects that I have my own show and training goals that need to be put first, so I donβt feel pressured that way. The student did a good job for her first time on a new horse and Mr Mustang did a fantastic job trying to figure out this very different rider. I commented to the coach that I was feeling proud of Mr Mustang for how well he was doing trying to figure out this riderβs cues, and she said that he was being great and that I should be very proud of him.
Well, weβll see! This may be the beginning of a new adventure! The coach and student are going to go chat and get back to me. Iβm not going to stop showing and training my own stuff with him of course, but I think it might be a neat adventure to add this in.
Sharing Mr Mustang, even a little bit, wasnβt something Iβd been willing to entertain before. But seeing him today, trying his little heart out to interpret this rider, being so calm and kind and generous with herβ¦ it made my heart swell β€οΈ
I love this pony
