✨ International Women’s Day Celebration at Paradip Port ✨

Paradip Port witnessed a vibrant celebration of International Women’s Day during the Women’s Cultural Meet 2026 at Jayadev Sadan. The event began with Deepa Prajjwalana (lamp lighting) by Shri P. L. Haranadh, Chairman, Paradip Port Authority, in the presence of senior officials and employees.

The celebration included a joyful Women’s Day cake cutting ceremony followed by prize distribution for winners of various competitions organized by the Paradip Ladies Club. The evening concluded with a captivating cultural presentation of the play “Pratidhwani.”

A Journey of Courage, Resilience & Safe Arrival at Paradip Port

Today, MT SANMAR HERALD safely arrived at Paradip Port and berthed at SPM-I at 11:30 hrs on 01 July 2026, marking the successful completion of an extraordinary voyage through one of the most challenging geopolitical situations in recent history.

After loading Basrah Medium and Basrah Heavy crude oil in Iraq, the vessel encountered the outbreak of hostilities in the Middle East. Operating under continuous coordination with the Indian Navy, the vessel endured prolonged delays, an attempted Strait of Hormuz transit, and even sustained shrapnel damage to its bridge during a hostile engagement. Throughout the ordeal, the Master and crew displayed exceptional professionalism, resilience, and commitment to safety.

With the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the vessel successfully resumed her voyage and reached Paradip safely. Most importantly, all officers and crew members remained safe throughout the mission.

On arrival, the Master and crew were warmly welcomed by representatives of Paradip Port Authority and SERPL, including the Harbour Master, with bouquets and mementoes in recognition of their courage and dedication.

🛠️ Preparatory Meeting for Vishwakarma Puja Held at Paradip Port Authority 🛠️

In preparation for the upcoming Vishwakarma Puja, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) organized a coordination meeting with representatives from various Puja Committees, Union Members, CISF, Paradip Police, Marine Police, Traffic Police, Fire Services, and District Administration officials.

The meeting focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination, public safety, traffic and crowd management, emergency preparedness, and essential infrastructure support to ensure the smooth and successful celebration of Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect and symbol of skill, craftsmanship, and engineering.
