Para Plot 8: Adopted by the Fleet
An alternate universe where the Fleet opens a program in the 2210s that allows certain officers or enlisted men and women to live planetside as long as they open their homes to at least one foster child. These children tend to be bright or talented, and end up attending the same schools near base, playing on base, and otherwise growing up in a Starfleet-saturated world together.

Peter wasn't particularly fond of the setting this time, but one couldn't be choosy. Ever. He wandered the little room, letting his fingers brush over little things. The headboard, the nightstand, the wall. Even the frame around the window. Lifting a hand, he tugged lightly at the curtain. He was always checking the view, every time they met. It wasn't that he was looking for trouble, well, maybe a tiny part of him was. But the sex was great and the relationship was more or less a call-girl/client in a way. He never paid Kate, though. And of course, no one knew about them. It would cause way more trouble than it was worth if her father found out. Or if Peter's sister found out. Wolf/hunter relationships weren't illegal, but they weren't ideal. Peter couldn't deny that the overall possibilities didn't end well for him or Kate if this was discovered. But he cared about her; maybe a tad more her body than the woman on the inside, but she was a good conversationalist and a damn good lay. Catching sight of the headlights, he backed away from the window, moving to sit on the bed casually.Β

Para Plot 6: Landing Party
All the fun of exploring the surface of a new, potentially life-bearing planet. It can be either:
Everything goes wrong
Everything wants to eat you
The locals are hostile
The locals think your gods
Everything isn't as it seems
Or any other type of situation you could think of.
Para Plot 5: Down Time
Video games, movies, phaser tag across deck, drinking, meals, all the little things that the crew does in between shifts and dire circumstances.

The presence of Spock's future counterpart is one thing, but now Earth is showing signs of a new epidemic. People who should have been dead for a century have started appearing in various locations across the face of the Earth. With the USS Enterprise down for serious repair and remodel, tracking down these civiliains and figuring out how to send them back (not to mention why they're here) might be just the task for a bored and recuperating grounded crew.
