US map weaving experiments 5) California Map scanned from Rand McNally map, foam core base. . Notes: California! The source in the Rand McNally Atlas is a two page spread (sigh). I rebuilt it and used the “ocean” blue background. Getting to where I want. US map weaving experiments (recap) 4) Arizona Map scanned from Rand McNally map, foam core base. . Notes: Yay Rand McNally! I got a new "midsize" Road Atlas and it's easy to scan. In my excitement, I forgot to trim off the non-Arizona elements on the map. US map weaving experiments (recap) 3) Maine Map scanned from a AAA map, foam core base. . Notes: Tried the Hawaii methods on Maine of the AAA map. Scanned and cleaned around the state in "ocean" blue. Worked well. BUT a lot of the New England states are too tiny on this map. In addition, California was too difficult to scan, with the large size of the state and folds in the map.
