My friend @_aliasgrace_ has her first exhibition through @paper_mountain in the Enex 100 building! The exhibition will be up for about three weeks, along with other artists. It's hard to take a photo without glare, so you should just go see it for yourself ☺️ #enex100 #papermountain (at Enex Perth) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFhRYeDDPFS/?igshid=9o449b5k68v3
Paper Mountain
For this task, we were put into groups and asked to show the qualities of paper in a photographic way. After a considerable amount of discussion, we decided to use natural window light and paper torn in several ways, then formed into shapes.
We used a canon 5d mk2, a tripod, and an 85mm macro lens. This lens was chosen as we wanted to use one small sheet of paper as the base upon which to place our shapes and as it allowed us to really concentrate on the qualities of the papers themselves.
In the first 6 images, we just adjusted the angles of the shots, the shutter times, the F-Stop and focal point. As it was a mixed lighting day it gave us different colour temperatures and shadows. We experimented with crushed paper as a frame but quickly discarded this as it made the shot too cluttered and we felt that it detracted from the image as a whole.
With the last 3 images in our series, we used a 2.8f and a much slower shutter speed of 1/20 second. We placed the tripod in a fixed spot directly above the target and as one of us shot another of us blew the various forms of paper, in slightly different directions and at different powers.
This finally gave us the look and feel we were after. This really shows us in quite a minimalistic and abstract way the qualities of the paper we used. We are very happy with this result as it showed our planning, execution and final delivery are what we had hoped to achieve.

It’s finally up! This site will be host to our debut project Eerie Goings-On, a dark fantasy comedy. Updates may be colossally delayed rather slow for the moment while the two of us are caught up in much duller work. In between episodes of Eerie we’ll upload short comics, gags and other thoughts that flit our way.
Thanks for reading!
