Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Robin x Reader)
Summary: Steve introduced Robin to his friend, who happens to also like girls.
“Steve? Did you OD over there?” Robin said hoping her friend didn’t hate her now. He laughed slightly.
“No…no. Just thinking.” There was a short pause as he leaned fully back onto the stall. “You know I might have someone I could hook you up with.” Steve smirked at Robin. Robin raised her eyebrows and then leaned against the wall.
“If its one of your child friends I’m not interested.” Robin said starting to giggle and Steve began to laugh.
“No-no she’s cool.” Steve said resting his head against the concrete.
“Heyyy y/n.” You looked over at Steve as you began to stock the new shipment of movies the store received on the shelves.
“What do you want Harrington? If it’s to fight another inter dimensional creature I’ll pass.” You said walking away from him to the next empty shelve, yet he followed you like a lost dog. He looked around to make sure no one was listening.
“So….I have this friend.” He raised his eyebrows.
“Cool I didn’t know you had friends.” You smiled at him.
“I have this friend, who likes girls.” He said quieter.
“Wow you have a friend who liked girls. He must be real special.”
“It’s not a he.” You looked at Steve surprised
“And she likes girls? Like, likes girl?” You whispered back.
“Yea and I told I could set something up with you. So what do you say? Meet me at the diner tonight at 6 for our date.” Steve said walking backwards, winking at you.
“Sure Steve see you there.” As Steve turned around he knocked into a tray with movies on it.
“Bye.” You replied rolling your eyes.
“So Robin, this is y/n.” Steve spoke standing before the table he pushed you into in the back corner of the diner.
“Y/n, Robin. The one I was telling you about.”
“Yea no shit dipwad.” Robin smiled a little as you insulted the boy.
“Well I’ll leave you to it then.” You both watched Steve leave. When you turned back around to face her, an awkward silence fell.
“So……you like girls?” You whispered lightly Robin nodded slightly looking down at the floor. “Same.” You whispered lightly. God this was awkward you thought to yourself.
As you spoke your palms grew sweaty and it seemed you had lost all the confidence you gained when Steve told you he had a friend who was also into girls. But could you blame yourself for being nervous? You’ve never really been around a girl that also liked girls, that you knew of. Let alone go on a date. I mean it was a rare thing in 80s to be like that. It was usually rare and frowned upon.
“So when did you ugh find out.” You whispered starting to sip on your shake, trying to ease the tension.
“I liked this girl in sophomore year. She was obsessed with Steve. And I got angry and jealous. I thought it was cause I liked Steve. Then I saw the same girl kissing another guy. Still felt jealous and you know realized it was cause I liked her.” You nodded and a silence fell “You?”
“My one friend got a boyfriend. And I was extremely jealous, didn’t realize it was cause I liked her. She moved away to Utah or something. Then I saw one of my brothers playboy magazine and it all kinda made sense.” You said quickly, kinda of embarrassed.
“How did ugh Steve find out?”
“One of his parties. I was making out with this girl in the bathroom and I swore the door was locked, but he walked in. The girl ran away and I never saw her again, probably moved.” You stopped for a second “thought Steve was too drunk to remember it but then he came up to me at school and told me he wouldn’t tell anyone. That’s when he dropped his terrible friends he was more bearable…..sorry I’m talking a lot.” Robin laughed a little showing her beautiful smile.
“It’s alright. My life has been boring to say the least. Beside getting trapped by Russians.” You both laughed.
“Y-yea Steve told me about that. You must have been pretty smart to figure out all that shit.”
“I don’t like the gloat but yea.” She laughed a little and you smiled at her before laughing too.
“Its a long story but to make it short we were both drugged.” You laughed again at her. As you two had eye contact quickly looked away and to your milkshake, but Robin kept her eyes on you, smiling.
It had turned dark by the end of your date. As you were walking side by side to your car, both your arms dangled making it perfect for one of you to grab the others hand. Well perfect if you weren’t two girls.
“So ugh maybe we could ugh-we could-.” Robin raised her eyebrows in a playful manner. You dropped your purse as you tried to get out your keys.
“We could?” She questioned.
“We could do-go….do something again. Maybe. Cause you’re-you’re just wow.” You said trying to pick up your purse from the ground and as you kneeled and got back up you hit your head on the mirror. “And you’re so cool. And-and…” you placed your hand on the bump you created on your forehead and then Robin slowly moved her hand up to soothe it.
“And you’re really pretty and I’m just trying to say I think I like you.” You said embarrassment flowing through your body crazily.
“Thanks….I think you’re pretty too.” She said awkwardly. “And I like you too.” She said smiling slightly. You regained some of your confidence.
“Maybe we could see a movie? The old theater opened up.”
“Y-yea we should see a movie.” Robin said her lips twitching up. You walked up to her quickly and peaked her cheek. You so badly wanted to kiss her but not in public. As you reached her car you bade her goodnight. When you turned around to leave she grabbed your hand and pulled you into her.
“There-there could be people. They-y could see-e.” Robin looked around the empty parking lot.
“I don’t see anybody?” She said sarcastically as she leaned into you. As you stood frozen she placed her lips on yours. It was like her kiss warmed you up and you placed your hand through her hair. You broke the kiss after a second.
“So tomorrow night? Old theater?”
“Y-y-Yep.” You said stunted. Robin laughed and brushed a piece of hair out of your safe.
“Be careful driving home.” She smiled brightly and giggled at your expression. With that she got in her car and drove away.
“Mom I’m home! My friend’s here is it ok if we have a sleepover?”
You and Robin giggled as you ran up the stairs, holding hands.
I come home in the morning light. My mother says, “When you gonna live your life right?” Oh mother dear we’re not the fortunate ones. And girls, they wanna have fun. Oh girls just want to have fun
You quickly both ran into your room and shut the door. You placed your hand on the side of Robin’s head and placed your lips against hers, as the song ringed out throughout the room from your radio.
Your lips moving in sink as you moved your hands to her hair and her hands roamed your body. You both split for air and then you grabbed her hand and lead her to your bed. You pushed her onto the plush bed. As you climbed on top of her, there was a knock at the door, which made you both freeze.
The phone rings in the middle of the night My father yells, “What you gonna do with your life?” Oh daddy dear, you know you’re still number one. But girls, they wanna have fun. Oh girls just want to have
“Hey turn down that ruckus!” You heard your dad tell from outside.
“Yes dad!” You reached over and turned the music down. You then leaned forward to Robin, attaching your lips once again.
Some boys take a beautiful girl. And hide her away from the rest of the world. I want to be the one to walk in the sun. Oh girls, they wanna have fun. Oh girls just wanna have.
“Now where were we.” You giggled into her lips. As you continued to kiss you ran your fingers up and down her shirt. She rolled you both over so she was now on top. She took off her shirt leaving her in a plain black bra. She deepened the kiss as she forced her tongue into your mouth, the pads of your velvet tongues playing with each other.
You heard another knock and both your head snaps towards the door. You quickly pushed Robin off of you and went to your closet. You pretended to be looking through it.
“Yes?” You shouted. Your mom didn’t answer but opened the door. She looked over at Robin who gave her an awkward wave and then to you. “What? We’re just trying on clothes.” You said to her. She smiled at you dropping off your laundry basket of fresh clothes.
“Girls.” She whispered to herself as she closed the door. You and Robin both looked at each and giggled. You threw your shirt and jeans off and into the laundry basket.
“Now lets make sure we don’t get interrupted again.” You said as you walked over to your door locking it. Robin sat on your bed resting on her elbows, smirking as you approached her.
When the working day is done. Oh when the working day is done, oh girl. Girls just wanna have fun.
