#panlong

The panlong is a dragon from Chinese mythology. Known as the "coiled dragon," it is often depicted curled up into a circle.

The panlong is said to be a dragon that has not yet ascended to Heaven. It is a common symbol in China, even appearing on the flag of the Qing Dynasty. It has also lent its name to "longshepan," a word from the Huainanzi referring to a good ambush location.

In horror, I stared at an angry dragon! ‘I am Panlong, guardian of this water temple. After destroying another world’s only hope for salvation, thy now also desecrate my temple with these fiery creatures?’ Its long body coiled and writhed in anger. With a heroic display of calm and reason, my amphibian ally thankfully soothed the guardian while I hushed the fireflies out of the cave. Once completed, we learned the eggs had been essential to rescue the other world. From the surrounding darkness, I heard the horrid bat creature cackle with glee. This demon had plagued the old water temple for ages, seeking to spread chaos and desperation. I sat down in misery. The dragon watched intently. ‘What do you have there?’ I looked down at the jar of leaves and the cookies that had fallen from by backpack. ‘Now, there still is a chance!’ Obviously, this stuff could recover lost time. At least, when used under proper guidance! Panlong told me what to do. In the end, we used the tea leaves and cookies to recover time for the unborn creatures in the mysterious eggs. The eggs appeared before us, unscathed and fresh. Seeing them unharmed, the demon charged us, screeching with pure evil malice.
