What itās like doing anything today:
"It's okay, I've got you."
@gunderscn
Mattās shoulders shook as his breathes tried to even out but it was so hard when his lunges didnāt want to cooperate. He still got panic attacks whenever he heard sword fighting or gun fire. However today he thought he would be okay enough to watch the Paladins train, but to no such luck as the flash backs started as well as false images of the Paladins falling and it being his fault.
He had immediately tried to flee to the comfort of his room, but he didnāt even make it that far before things got blurry and dizzy. He was grateful that his sister had found him rather then one of the other Paladins. He didnāt want to cause them stress since he had a feeling they wouldnāt know how to handle him when he got this way. He leaned against Pidge for comfort as he tried to focus on their breath to help himself calm down.
"Its okay, I got you"
Send in āits okay, I got youā for my muses reaction to your muse comforting my muse while theyāre having a panic attack.
It started with an overwhelmingly strong scent of cinnamon in an area on his walk. The smell in itself wasnāt bad in moderation, but this was just intense. He felt crowded very fast. Paranoid. He couldnāt stop looking around for someone who wasnāt going to be there. (Nick had ran away from him. He wasnāt there. Was he?)
The uncomfortable feeling followed him all the way back home. Every unplaceable noise had him nearly jumping out of his skin. He felt unlike himself for it. He looked unsettled even as he walked through his door.
Heād forgotten heād allowed her to stay the night before, and so he blanched hearing someone walking around. He wanted to run. But he had to face it, didnāt he?
There were hesitant steps toward his kitchen. Deep breath in. Shaky breath out.Ā Walking in and seeing her filled him with so much relief he actually teared up. He hadnāt realized the extent to which the anxiety of it all had hit.Ā
It also influenced the impending true panic to metaphorically slap him right in the face.
Panic of pains of the past. Panic that he was might have to explain what he was panicking over when he wasnāt ready to explain himself there. Wasnāt ready to think in any detail about what he was afraid of. Who he was afraid of. What had happened. Hell, he hardly knew what was going on anymore, heād tapped out mentally. All he knew was that heād backed up against the wall and started being unable to breathe properly.
He didnāt even remember her walking over to him, or talking to him, and he barely registered her touching him, he was so gone. He couldnāt talk. He felt like he was passenger seat in his own head. But his natural reaction on the outside was to allow it and nearly cling to her, because logically part of him was seeing her right there. Even still he hardly felt it as he thought he was dying a little bit.
If he remembered any of this, heād have to thank her later.
[PANIC]
((Under a cut for⦠graphic? I guess? (could you call it graphic? graphic is usually reserved for violence or sexual content, ehhh⦠thereās none of that in here so?) Description of a panic attack, possibly triggering? I donāt know, Iām trying to play it safe here. |D))

((Panic Attack)) "Danny! Danny, take it easy! It'll be okay! Just breathe, okay? Follow me. Breathe in... breathe out..." Valerie hadn't expected Danny to slip into such a state of panic, though she wasn't entirely surprised, considering everything that had been going on. She rested a concerned hand on his shoulder, trying not to crowd him, while at the same time letting him know he's got someone there for him. "Hey, I'm here for you. It's going to be okay. I promise. Just breathe."
Danny looked around frantically, pulling from Valerieās hold a bit and gasped for breath. He panted as his body jittered with fright, a thick swallow slow-going down his throat. Wavering breaths spilled from the deep corners down in his chest, his blue eyes wide and pupils shrunken into tiny pinpricksābarely visible. He was covered in clammy sweat before he began to hear Valerieās voice, his name being called, and urging tonesā¦
He yanked away from her, facing her and still shaking, panting loudly as if there was no oxygen left on the planet. Mouth gaping and chest heaving, blue eyes locked to her teal green ones, not knowing how to respond so he glanced away from her again and looked out, his head and eyes snapping this way and that, as if he were a scared, wild rabbit on the lookout for trouble and danger.
Noire sat beside Req, slowly pulling her into a hug and whispering reassuring things to her. She rested her helm on top of Req's. She knew she couldn't make the feeling go away. She would just help the best she could.
The tightly curled ball of minibot continued trembling while Noire pulled her close, whimpering softly and cycling her vents rapidly as she tried to direct her thoughts to something positive. Focus on Noire. Focus on what's real. He can't find you. They can't find you. You're safe here. "N-N-Noire, w-what if they f-find us? What if h-he finds us? "
"You look like you're having a panic attack...oh. Guess my presence isn't helpin', huh? I'll go."
Barb tried to glare at the female version of her most hated enemy, but couldn't as she struggled to get air into her lungs.
