Selangor MB denies neglecting Pandamaran apartment residents

SHAH ALAM, Nov 10, 2014:

Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali has denied allegations that the state government did not extend assistance to repair the roofs of the Taman Permai Indah apartments in Pandamaran, Klang, which were damaged in a storm on Oct 21.

He said the state government had approved an allocation of RM880,000 to repair the apartment roofs damaged in the incident.

“The work is only in phase two. Before repairing the roof, we have to repair the water tank for the residents..

“We do not want to put the cart before the horse, which may cause further inconvenience,” he told reporters after attending a monthly meeting of state government departments here today.

Yesterday, 1,000 Taman Permai Indah apartment residents held a demonstration against the state government for not assisting to repair the roofs of three blocks of the affected apartments.

Meanwhile, while commenting on the candidate for the post of state assembly deputy speaker, Mohamed Azmin said the candidate would be announced at the assembly sitting on Nov 24.

“The process of nominating the candidate ended today and the matter will be tabled at the sitting on Nov 24.”
