hm there's not nearly enough yandere hades related content as I would have thought ngl. Somehow, I figured that as popular and hot as these characters were designed to be, there'd be a lot more x reader content.

So Konami just had it's first Silent Hill related...anything that wasn't a pachinko machine in...hold up
*checks notes*
10 years! Holy shit it's been that long...and no, P.T. doesn't count...kinda. Anyway, to make up for it (and probably for Contra: Rogue Corps) they decided to go ALL OUT with this franchise with 3 games, a movie (oh goody), a interactive series (could be fun?) and lots of merch.
First up is a remake of the classic Silent Hill 2. While I rather had seen a remake of the first game (that technically got a re-imaging on the Wii but still) as I think SH2 still holds up really well it is cool to see the game with next-gen graphics.
If they keep the rest of the game intact and add more stuff and locations (and fix the combat) this might be, not a replacement but a good version of the game to enjoy. Especially because the only proper way to play the original SH2 is either the PS2 version, the PC port or the Xbox version with extra content added. Don't go for the HD Collection on this one guys.
Next up are 2 brand new SH games: Silent Hill Townfall and Silent Hill F. Nothing is really know about these yet (except that F takes place in 1960's Japan) so we only got 2 teaser trailers but they look pretty dope either way.
While I still remain skeptical of Konami and the last 10 years where they messed up the SH franchise, screwed over Kojima and Metal Gear and gave us only that aweful Contra: Rogue Corps game and new versions of Pro Evolution Soccer, I REALLY hope this will be the comeback this franchise desperatly needs. After all, Resident Evil manged to come back after RE6 so why not Silent Hill?
I wouldn't mind visiting that dreaded town again. I can still see it...in my dreams...Silent Hill...

Sam's Unique magic
Sam, NRC's resident shopkeep who hasn't really had much explained about him. One thing about him specifically I'm curious about is his UM and I have couple of theories on what it is.
My first theory is shadow manipulation. It would fit his inspiration of Dr. Facilier and be pretty cool looking. Seeing shadows stock the shelves, things moving by themselves in the dark around him. All that good creepy stuff.
My second and more meta theory is the abiltiy to know what somwone wants before they ask and everytime he says "IN STOCK NOW" its stocked. Think about, he always has whatever the gang needs. Like why would a school shop have tailored suits, bouquets with exorcist abities and a banishment ring? What would you need that for? Unless he knew about Eliza before everything happened or magic. Maybe it is Tarot themed, because of Dr. Facilier being a fortune teller. Im just spit balling so I'm not even sure myself. π
Other than these I'm sure there are plenty of ideas for Sam and other Staff members UM's. If you have any ideas for Sam or anyone else please tell me! I'm really curious what everyone's ideas are.
I really miss having good talks about nerd stuff without it devolving into mudslinging. Doesn't matter if their take on a subject is widly different from mine (not politically though, I know where I stand on that), I would still like to have a fun discussion about it.
Like, a discussion talking about fanservice in anime, how both men and women are portrayed in that regard, is it damaging the image of anime and so forth. That would be cool but no, it always comes back to the dreaded "culture war" eventually. Pathetic.
Almost Every Gaming Youtuber in the late 2000's: "Hey did you know Sephiroth and his theme song, One Winged Angel, are overrated? Kefka from Final Fantasy VI is a MUCH better villain and his theme, Dancing Mad, is WAY better and has more depth?"
Me, after rewatching the Cloud VS Sephiroth fight in Advent Children for the tenth time: "What's that? I can't hear you over this awesome guitar riff dude. Guy just sliced a building in half!"

Huh, it's kinda funny and cool that in less then a year, where other fighting games barely have any LGBT characters in them (not saying they HAVE to, the inclusion is just neat) , Daisuke Ishiwatari and his team (of Guilty Gear and Blazblue fame) were like "okay, Bridget is offcially trans and Testament is non-binary, have a good day"
That's pretty metal, which fits Guilty Gear well.
*New Super Mario Bros. The Movie trailer drops*
A lot of people: "Girlboss Peach!
Also a lot of people: "Luigi X Bowser is now a thing!"
I've always had this dumb theory that the reason some people get very defensive about other people giving (constructive) criticism about something they enjoy immensely is that, once they percieve those (possible) flaws themselves they fear they will not enjoy the thing as much as they did before. And I get that, I really do, but that's not how it works
Most of the time, the biggest fans of something are also it's biggest critics. Not to be contrarians or that they secretly dislike it but BECAUSE they are such huge fans. They analyse the story, characters and themes because it resonates with them and as such they will find what they feel are flaws with it. They love this thing so much and want it to succeed, want it to be even better. That's just how most fans are.
And like, not every fan has the same critique as the other. What one considers a flaw in the story or the characterization of a character someone else doesn't but they in turn see a flaw that the other person doesn't and that's perfectly fine. That's how fan discourse should be: fans discussing the pros and cons of the thing they enjoy and simply trying to understand each other better and wanting the creators of the thing they enjoy to improve their work. Because both parties would (theoratically) benefit from that.
Creators aren't sheltered either. I think most would respond properly to constructive criticism or at the very least understand where you might be coming from, as long as you are doing this in good faith. In the end, no piece of media is perfect and will contain flaws in some way or another. It doesn't mean that it doesn't hold value to both you, the creator(s) and simply as a form of art. Whatever it means to you is valid, no matterer what. I mean, the shonen series Naruto means A LOT to me (if you couldn't already tell) and I will always defend what I think are the (many) pros of the series but I will in the same breath also critique what I think are flaws of the series. My love for it isn't any less then it was 15 years ago when I started watching just because I've become more aware or notice issues with it's writing over the years.
If art is reflective of the person that created it then it makes sense that it's not perfect because who is? We all strive to improve ourselves and our work and I think fans want that too.
