a lie, awry.
palmmark
He pretended to fumble with his wallet, looking for an ID he didn’t actually have while the bouncer glowers at him. Yugyeom knows he’s a tall kid with a face that looks a little too mature for his young years and maybe, just maybe, if he held everyone up long enough they’d just let him through. It’s not like he could go in and dance (the thought made him want to glare down at his ankle, snugly wrapped up in a brace because it had decided to be a traitor again and roll on him while he was just walking and hadn’t quite stopped hurting yet) but he liked the atmosphere. He liked loud, happy music and people singing along and moving and just getting lost in a crowd he couldn’t really join. Yugyeom liked to pretend that he could, though.
“Do you have an ID or not? I can’t let you in if you’re bullshitting me about being nineteen.” The bouncer crossed his arms over his chest and the boy put on his best apologetic smile and patted his pockets as if wondering if he had forgotten to put the card back in his wallet and it was somewhere else on him instead. “I’m sorry, sir.” Yugyeom bit his lip as if nervously, though that wasn’t quite as faked as his smile. The thought that he might have to go home disappointed had crossed his mind.
As suspicious as it might look, the kid couldn’t help but glance around as if looking for help. An idea about how to worm his way in, maybe. Was there another way to prove that he was of age? Well, fake-prove at least. Yugyeom couldn’t help but wonder if this bouncer was new. He seemed too ‘by the book’-ish in comparison to who he had dealt with the first time he tried this. That guy just gave him a once-over and seemed to decide that yeah, this kid could be at least eighteen before letting him through.
