You know I was actually listening to Reese Lansangan’s St. Petersburg on repeat while walking around the streets of St. Petersburg, like a lonely soul looking for home, away from home.
Now every time I listen to the song, it’s like as if I was still there walking along the cobbled streets surrounded with people waiting for the lights to turn green, I can still hear the street bands playing their songs, the accordions and the drums filing the air making it more alive. Or it was like standing in the middle of the Palace Square, the pigeons flying freely. There are people dressed in the 18th century western fashion with their powdered faces and the endless fluttering of their fans, you can take a picture with them for $10, print it and send it for postcards. The laughters of the children chasing each other and the tour guides speaking on their megaphones with their flock of eager listeners which I doubt understands what she says considering all the noise around the square.
