#PaintSmore Day 7/24 “Inyo National Forest, California” gouache on paper 4”x6” Early in my adventures to the outdoors, my brother and I headed to the Eastern Sierras and hiked along Inyo National Forest’s Big Pine Creek. Despite the heat of the summer, the creek and surrounding turquoise lakes were ice cold from glacial melt. We enjoyed a beautiful nine mile hike, and came back to the camp for a proper feast where I learned to build a fire for the first time.

As a reminder, always take proper fire safety precautions and remember, as @smokeybear says, “Only you can prevent forest fires.” This series is part of “Paint S’more,” a 24 day painting challenge with the theme of camping.
