Drugie spotkanie kursu "Podstawy malarstwa" już za nami!

Tym razem pracowaliśmy w ograniczonej palecie, a zadanie polegało na wykonaniu monochromatycznej martwej natury. Zamiast koloru najważniejsze stało się światło i cień, czyli to, co buduje formę i przestrzeń w obrazie.

Uczestnicy mierzyli się z malowaniem jednego motywu przy użyciu tylko jednego koloru i bieli, ucząc się dostrzegać subtelne przejścia tonalne oraz zależności między światłem a cieniem. Było to ćwiczenie wymagające, ale też bardzo rozwijające – pokazujące, że obraz może "działać" nawet bez koloru, opierając się wyłącznie na walorze.

First meeting of my "Painting Foundations" course is behind us.

I’m running the course as part of the activities of the Student Research Club of Visual, Performing and Multimedia Arts, which I supervise. During our first session we focused on the foundations of painting – color and the relationships between colors. Participants worked with a limited palette, learning how to mix pigments and observe how color changes in relation to light and other hues.

During the session we focused on what painting often begins with - color and the relationships between colors. Participants worked with a limited palette, learning how to mix pigments and observe how color changes depending on light and the presence of other hues.

The first exercises were about getting familiar with the material itself and discovering how many tones can emerge from just a few colors. In the second part of the class we moved to simple still life painting, using color as a way of observing rather than simply copying reality.
