if you'd just been honest with me from the start, we wouldn't be here.
there’s a silence that hangs in the air after the words are spoken into existence. she’s right. though, matt has troubles with being honest in hopes of protecting those around him. it’s happened countless of times, he’s unsure if he could even begin to count on his fingers the amount of times he has lied about something to either karen, foggy or just those he happens to surround himself with. matt doesn’t know how he got here, but what he does know is that the guilt is eating him alive from the inside. it’s like a mold that he can’t get rid of.
〝 i know, 〞his words come out soft, guilt riding his tone like something mean. a sadness in his eyes that is hidden behind glasses of a ruby shade. 〝 can i make it up to you somehow, karen .ᐣ 〞what matt also knows is it’s not that simple to make up from a lie but at least he could try.
